Gulf Coast Oil Spill - Oil Hits the Beach, Grand Isle, Louisiana
This was the most devastating and significant project I've ever undertaken. I am not a stringer photographer, was not on assignment for anyone, I just got on a plane and decided to do something about BP's mess. Miraculously, with the help of my good friend Cody, I found a fisherman willing to take me out on the oil, and photographed everything I saw.
These images are not what you would normally see in the media, and when I flew to Louisiana, I went fully expecting to be arrested for photographing BP's oil spill (thankfully, that did not happen). The people in this community are forever devastated, still getting over Katrina, and have nothing left to give in this situation.
YOU CAN HELP! If you would like to give voice to both the community and the wildlife enduring the tragic Gulf Coast oil spill, please repost this link everywhere you can to help tell others the real story of this devastation! Every little bit helps!
